Soup in the city is a delicious breakfast and lunch cafe in the centre of Prague that was in need of a an update. It had originally been finished with some very dark colours, and interestingly fitted out with a large shipping container used as a kitchen. Trying to get away from the dark, we chose a bright colour scheme of beige and seafoam green, along with small amounts of black. To add warmth to the space and deal with the unsightly container we clad the entire outside of it and the bar with well worn vintage woods recovered from various southern czech barns. We added a large space above the container for storage, and designed large decals to adorm the outside of the storage space. and act as menus We then added various shelves, books, and lighting to add a homely feel. We finished with some of our custom designed vintage wood framed mirrors to really open up the space as well. We are also proud to say this entire installation was custom made on the spot, in a mere two long days over a weekend, allowing the customer minimal downtime.
