The Vintage room at fusion hotel prague was one of the first interiors we did for fusion. Since it’s a bigger room, there is much more to it then a bed and wardrobe. We’ve incorporated a seating area as well as a desk for those keen to work. All items in the room are either vintage or use reclaimed materials. For example the headboard is made of a series of floorboards which are over 100 years old. We’ve used two old food crates for bedside tables. One of them still has an original sign on it saying “bacon”. The ‘desk’ is a former carpenter workbench and metal decorations in the room come from an old military base. We’ve used wooden crates hung on the wall instead of shelving and combined reclaimed drawers with other bits of reclaimed wood to create doors for the wardrobe in this room. The collection of pictures and other decorations on the wall above the sofa were acquired during various visits to antique markets both in Czech and in UK. This room turned out to be a huge success with both hotel guests and local media, and a number of photo shoots have now taken place in the room as well as the room being featured in OK! magazine. This has turned out to be fusion hotel’s most popular room to date, and has prompted fusion to rehire us to design similar rooms.
